Drinkin' a Grandé Mocha

Imagine our surprise when we found that The Onion had already written an article about how Weird Al was going to write the following parody of Ricky Martin's "Living la Vida Loca."

I can't help noticing that this is the only parody here that doesn't talk about insanity or the undead... although we are talking about an addiction of some sort, so I guess it fits here.

He has a nice position
P.R. for shopping malls
He has a teeny cell-phone
He must make a lot of calls
He thinks he's a sensation
With his financial might
Caffeine is his addiction,
And he's gonna want it right

He uses twenty words to
Order coffee – he's so vain
He'll use a term like 'soupçon'*
When he orders– it's insane;
He's got java on the brain

chorus:
Add an extra shot
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
With cinnamon on top
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
He'll want it iced or hot
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
He will wear you out
makin' his grandé mocha (Come on!)
makin' his grandé mocha
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha

He makes a grand appearance
At each coffee shop in town
Annunciating every sentence
He always asks for the finest ground

He sniffs each cup of coffee
Like he's judging fine Champagne
And once he's had a sip he makes
A face like he's in pain
But he'll order it again

Twist of lemon, please
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
And leave me room for cream,
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
No, make that two percent
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
Give it lots of steam
Make him his grandé mocha (Come on!)
Make him his grandé mocha
Just give him his grandé mocha

He thinks it's really trendy
To be hooked on hot caffeine
And if you get his order wrong,
He'll cause you such a scene
He's a buzzing coffee queen

Add an extra shot
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
With cinnamon on top
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
He'll want it iced or hot
He's drinkin' a grandé mocha
He will wear you out
makin' his grandé mocha (Come on!)

chorus to end
